CHEVY VAN

Work goes on on the Chevy Astro. In these pictures you can see that we have panelled in the rear door windows as well as the two rear side windows, this will allow me extra room for the proposed artwork. It has also had the effect of making the van look more 'squat'. All the panelling has been done in mild steel, shaped with the plasma cutter and bonded into place with P.U. adhesive. On the lower sides of the van we have removed the black plastic trim and made a start on filling the recess left behind.  This recess was ground out to give the chopped fibreglass we used a good key. Once cured the fibreglass was sanded smooth, and in these pictures you can see that the first skim of bodyfiller has been applied. Tomorrow we will carry on sanding down the paintwork and, hopefully, by Friday we will be ready to start applying the first coats of etch primer. Watch this space!
